BoxTemplate

Licence

What you may do with a template you make here. Short answer: free for personal use; a business needs a commercial licence.

The short version

The templates you make here are free for personal use: gifts, crafts, parties, school and classroom projects, and test samples while you work out your own packaging. Using them for a business needs a commercial licence, which will come with BoxTemplate's paid plans. Whatever artwork you add stays yours.

Free: personal use

Needs a commercial licence

The commercial licence will be part of BoxTemplate's paid plans. If you need it before then, write to cashcodetalks@gmail.com.

Never allowed

Your artwork

A picture you add to a template stays yours, or stays whoever's it was. It never leaves your browser, and BoxTemplate makes no claim on it. Make sure you have the right to use any picture you print.

What changed

Until 5 October 2026, templates made here could be used commercially and the files shared. From that date the terms on this page apply. Templates you downloaded before 5 October 2026 keep the terms they came with.

No warranty

The templates are given as they are, with no guarantee. The geometry is checked, but card thickness, printer scaling and cutting are yours. Print one and fold it before you rely on it. The terms of use say more.

Questions

Can I make boxes for my Etsy shop?
You can design and test them here for free. Using them to package or sell products needs the commercial licence.
Can I give the boxes away?
Yes, as gifts, favours or at a party. Giving them away to promote a business counts as commercial use.
Can I use them in class or a workshop?
Yes. Each student can make their own here. Please do not hand out printed copies as course material you charge for.
Can I share a template with a friend?
Share the link to the template instead. It opens with the same shape, so they can make it at their own size.
